Find a topic of psychology that seems interesting to you that we have, or will, cover in the course (see book). Come up with a question about the topic you have chosen and design an experiment to test your question. Follow the guidelines presented in the syllabus regarding papers (e.g., 12 point font, etc.). The assignment should be 2–3 pages. Remember, an experiment does not have to be complex to be noteworthy or to receive full credit. A simple design with all the essential pieces (noted below) is all that is necessary. There should be no more than 3 grammatical errors in the paper to receive full credit. Papers must be submitted in one of the following formats: .doc, .docx, .pages. Be sure to answer or identify the pieces of information below:
12 point font
1 inch margins
Clear Writing/Few Typos and Grammatical Errors
A paragraph about why you chose the topic and informing the reader about it
What is it?
How will it be manipulated?
What is it?
How will it be measured?
Identify the Experimental group
Identify the Control group
Note your operational definitions
Who are they?
How they will be sampled?
Extraneous/confounding or 3rd variables
Explain how they will be controlled
If your study confirmed your hypothesis what would that tell us about your subject matter?
